Frank Monteleone Weaves DEI Across Rexall Pharmacy Group

Fulfilling the company’s mission of “Caring for Canada’s health, one person at a time.”, Frank Monteleone, Chief People Officer at Rexall Pharmacy Group Ltd., plays a pivotal role in aligning with the strategic vision of fostering an empowering employee experience. One impactful initiative was the creation of a DEI Council and Employee Resource Groups in response to the company's recent acquisition, and the need to diverge from the former parent company's ERGs. This initiative has established an executive sponsored, peer-led network of acknowledgement, support, and education, encouraging open conversation about diversity, equity and inclusion. Frank also inspired the Rexall’s Continuous Listening Strategy to amplify employee voices on an ongoing basis.

Frank and his team reimagined the Orientation and Onboarding Experience based on employee and leader feedback, introducing a two-part, in-person, instructor-led interactive onboarding session and culture day. The team also collaborated with the Front Store and Pharmacy leaders to revamp the Performance Management process, establishing more relevant goals that empowered store managers to take ownership of their Leadership Objectives and Goals. Additionally, Rexall has worked to weave DEI into every aspect of the company, from talent acquisition practices to the how existing employees engage and connect through diverse mediums and in unique ways.
