Kim Carter Empowers People to Own Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Altus


Kim Carter, Chief People Officer for Altus Group, believes that diversity is core to a successful thriving culture which is why when joining Altus, she formalized its corporate values to include "Work Inclusively". Kim’s team has advanced Altus’ talent strategies and enacted supporting management systems to mobilize Altus leaders around the DEI commitment. This includes introducing a DEI policy, ensuring equitable hiring practices, and building training and development commitments for global leaders, enabling them to own, learn, and lead on the DEI front.

Emphasizing the importance of inclusive behaviours, all Executives Committee members have measurable, bonus-driven goals for increasing diverse representation within positions of management. To build connections and develop mutual respect with peers, Kim leads by example and believes in people educating one another; she’s embedded DEI learning initiatives into the newly launched Altus Intelligence Academy. Kim is advancing an inclusive work environment and the people practices that develop a culture of trust, empowering people to bring their whole selves to work and celebrating one another’s differences.
