Laura Salvatore, Vice President, Human Capital for Centurion Asset Management, developed the Centurion Learning Academy (“CLA”) in 2021. The CLA provides free access to learning and development resources to ensure all Employees are afforded equal opportunities for career advancement, regardless of their individual learning styles and/or financial obligations. Laura also introduced a tuition reimbursement program for Employees wishing to pursue formal continuing education or obtain professional designations, and a Mentoring Program that Employees are enrolled in from their first day with the company to ensure they experience a feeling of inclusion.
Laura launched Centurion’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee to create a sense of belonging across the organization. She also oversees an anonymous survey platform where Employees can share ideas for workplace improvements as well as express concerns of perceived discrimination or inequality. Laura introduced unconscious bias training for Hiring Managers and has made DE&I training mandatory for Employees. She employs unique tactics throughout the recruitment process to prevent selection bias, only providing access to the resume database to the Talent Acquisition Team and requiring that all interviews are conducted by panels. To connect with people, Laura first identifies common ground and seeks to give a voice to those uncomfortable speaking up.
