Mary Alice Vuicic Brings Diverse Perspectives to Thomson Reuters Decision-Making Table

Thomson Reuters' Chief People Officer, Mary Alice Vuicic, aims to create an inclusive and equitable workplace, leading Thomson Reuters to use data and insights to drive DEI at every level of the company and across the globe. Her People team started collecting Organizational Health Index DEI data and introduced the Count Me In initiative, which encourages worldwide employees to voluntarily self-identify and led to a 10% increase in self-identification in 2022. These initiatives ensure that Thomson Reuters has the right information to make impactful, equitable decisions, leading to prioritized DEI actions and reinforcing leadership accountability. The data collected was crucial in creating successful programs such as India's Autism Internship Program, which had over 40 interns join Thomson Reuters, and Brazil's Black Talent Internship Program, which had 44 interns join in 2023. It also supports employee talent reviews with an emphasis on spotlighting underrepresented talent and their development.

Mary Alice is also proud of establishing ten vibrant Business Resource Groups (BRGs) with 80 chapters globally. These groups provide a platform for employees to bring their authentic selves to work, host cultural events, offer training sessions, and promote networking and mentorship opportunities. BRGs play a pivotal role in fostering a more inclusive workplace culture and a strong sense of belonging.
