Sherry Dondo is the Chief Human Resources Officer for HomeEquity Bank. She has led the effort to revamp the Bank’s people strategy with a focus on creating fair and equitable programs with shared accountability by both leaders and employees. Sherry has further enhanced the wellness strategy to focus on the total well-being of the diverse workforce with programs that support physical, mental, social, and financial health. Sherry’s greatest reward is hearing employees describe the positive change the DEI programs have made in their lives and the workplace.
One of Sherry’s proudest achievements is the evolution of the Employment Equity Group into a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, comprised of representatives from across the business. The Council leads the mandates most relevant to the diverse workforce. The Council also partners with community leaders to host interactive events in support of special observance months, like Black History Month and International Women’s Day. Under Sherry’s leadership, the Bank has also rolled out a quarterly, forward looking and continuous performance management program that is aligns with the organization’s core values of “One Team. One Vision: We are an inclusive community that achieves more by pulling together.”
