Leading a team that spearheads People Services as a success factor to foster collaboration, well-being, and innovation, Silvia Gonzalez-Zamora, Global Social Sustainability Practice Leader and Partner in People and Change at KPMG Canada, can claim many “firsts” at the organization. The company was the first professional services firm to have a client-facing DEI service, the first to design a Psychological Safety framework, and the first to open a Community of Practice dedicated to Mental Health and Workplace Wellness, and the first to launch a full practice dedicated to social sustainability and other inclusive practices — named Corporate Citizenship. Throughout her career, Silvia served as a technical leader at a central bank, drove an ERP implementation for a multinational retailer, and developed a toolkit for the Canadian Federal Government that organizations use to increase representation of women and underrepresented groups at Board levels.
Silvia implements necessary initiatives as a consultant to enhance productivity, engagement, and accountability, introducing small, intentional, and collective programs and frameworks that foster inclusive workplace cultures, enabling people to thrive and feel a sense of belonging. They include DEIA initiatives, communication initiatives, design thinking approaches, community growth programs, culture risk management initiatives, respectful workplace policies, social impact metrics, and more.
