Brandy Ryan is the Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at Canada Post. She leads the execution and advancement of all EDI strategies and initiatives designed to create a safe and welcoming environment for all employees and customers. Brandy also leads Canada Post’s Human Rights and Employment Equity team, which works to foster a respectful workplace and remove barriers for equity-deserving groups. She brings leadership with knowledge and strength developed through her lived experience. As someone who has intersectionality identifying within diversity groups, Brandy has a personal passion and interest to see equity advancement in the workplace.
Brandy's role at Canada Post is a valued opportunity to advance inclusion across all regions of Canada. To date, Brandy’s memorable moments at Canada Post include: delivering a speech to the family of Salome Bey, Canada’s “First Lady of the Blues,” at a stamp launch honouring the Canadian icon; unveiling the 2023 Black History Month stamp featuring Chloe Cooley, a courageous woman whose act of resistance helped change legislation; co-creating and launching Canada Post’s first Pride postmark and the corporation's Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Charter; as well the grand opening of the Albert Jackson Processing Centre, named in honour of the country’s first Black letter carrier.
