BDO Canada appoints Sinéad Scanlon as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leader

BDO Canada is delighted to announce Sinéad Scanlon as the new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leader. In this capacity, Sinéad will continue to propel the firm's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy, fostering an environment where employees feel empowered to bring their authentic selves to work.

“Over the past 16 years with our firm, Sinéad has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fostering an environment where everyone belongs,” said Kerri Plexman, Managing Partner, Talent & Culture for BDO Canada. “We are eager to leverage her expertise to continue our DEI journey, ensuring BDO continuously evolves to meet the needs of our people.”

Sinéad succeeds Giselle Bodkin, who made significant contributions to the firm's DEI initiatives. Giselle led the National DEI Advisory Council, comprising five pillars tasked with integrating DEI principles across the organization. Collaborating with pillar leads and council members, Giselle fostered an inclusive culture where BDO Canada employees feel valued and engaged.

In her new role, Sinéad will also lead the firm's National DEI Advisory Council, having previously served on the Women's Pillar before assuming the position of DEI Leader.
