Kirk Merrett is the Director of Human Resources and Administration for Hyundai Auto Canada. Under his leadership, the company has become a standard bearer for diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices. He has developed talent systems that have led to numerous successes in diversity hires, with 63% of new hires coming from equity-deserving groups. Kirk also developed equitable promotions and pipeline opportunities for women and visible minorities. He implemented numerous employee training programs and initiatives for all employees, addressing issues like unconscious bias, mental health, respect in the workplace, micro-aggressions and more. The focus of his DEI efforts is the implementation of a strategic plan for genuine change and awareness.
